Olathe District School Board Announces Plans to Move to Hybrid

Bailey Flanagan, Editor in Chief

In a surprising move by the Olathe District Board of Education, Olathe Middle and High Schools will move to a hybrid schedule for in-person students on October 19th.
The hybrid switch was announced on October 6th, and high school will follow an AM/PM format with students will split alphabetically. On November 9th, the district will review gating criteria and hybrid to discuss possible model change on November 16th.
This move follows an inconclusive board meeting on October 1st where students, teachers, and parents voiced their opinions on hybrid learning and school format changes.
